Slim Pickins at Meadowlark Lake

At first glance, you're probably thinking....."ok, what's he complaining about?" Looks pretty decent from here, right?? WRONG, because what you don't see or hear are the campers in VERY close proximity to the left and right of my campsite and all of the excessive highway noise immediately behind my travel trailer (highway 16). I could have parked the travel trailer on my street in Sheridan and it would have been much quieter. Think I got spoiled from my experience at my previous campsite at Middle Fork a few weeks ago. Oh well, as a friend of mine remarked, "live and learn". An appropriate reminder, well said, thanks Susan.

It's always a good practice to have a back-up trailer hitch checker to ensure that it's being done correctly. Lenny to the rescue. Nothing ever gets by him. Apparently, I passed the inspection.

Always on full alert mode. Nothing gets by him. Even if he manages to tangle up his lifeline, he is at the ready. Of course, he has a difficult time trying to figure out how to UNtangle the mess, but eventually, he solves most of the problems without assistance, especially when food is involved as an incentive.

Set up a nice, comfortable bed for the furball complete with cushions, a blanket, and his favorite toy and yet, he prefers to nest on the trailer floor. Go figure.

Note to self.....be more selective the next time you book a reservation at one of these campgrounds. Or better yet, select and book your spots well in advance (as in December 2022) when reservations for the 2023 summer season open up.

And finally, on the return trip home from Meadowlark Lake, another bout of THIS. Second one in less than a month. What gives?? Guess a trip to see the urologist is in my immediate future. What a pain.....figuratively and literally. Never a dull (or pain free) moment. Oh well, keeping a positive outlook as anticipation is building for the BIG road trip next month. Stay tuned!!
